GST-ready solar quotations with CGST, SGST and IGST
Bharat Solar Venture works out GST for you. It compares your company's state with the customer's state: the same state gives equal CGST and SGST, a different state gives IGST. Each line (system, bill of materials, optional battery) carries its own GST rate, and the live preview shows the grand total in words using lakh and crore.

How the totals are calculated
Each line is priced first: capacity times the rate per kilowatt for the system and the bill of materials, and unit price times quantity for an optional battery. A flat rupee discount is then subtracted from that line, and it can never exceed the line it applies to. GST is worked out on each discounted line and added up, rather than being derived from an already-rounded taxable total.
- Taxable total, total GST and grand total are shown separately
- The system, bill-of-materials and battery lines each have their own GST rate
- Amounts are calculated in rupees and paise, never in floating point
CGST and SGST, or IGST
If your state and the customer's state match, total GST is split into CGST and SGST of equal value. CGST is rounded to the paisa and SGST takes the remainder, so the two always add up to the exact total. If the states differ, the whole amount is shown as IGST.
What you set up once
Your company's state is set in Settings and every customer record carries a state. If either is missing, Bharat Solar Venture asks you to add it instead of guessing. Your GSTIN is optional, and when you enter one its format is checked before it is saved.
Common mistakes
Leaving a state out
Your company's state is set in Settings and every customer record carries a state. If either is missing, Bharat Solar Venture asks you to add it instead of guessing.
Expecting a tax invoice
Bharat Solar Venture produces quotations only. It does not file returns and does not issue GST invoices.
Assuming one rate fits every line
The system line, the bill-of-materials line and the battery line each carry their own GST rate. Defaults come from your price book and battery catalog and can be changed on the quotation.
Expecting old quotations to follow a rate change
Rates are stored on the quotation. A change in your price book affects future quotations, while a finalized quotation keeps the rates it was issued with.
