Indicative PM Surya Ghar subsidy on every eligible quotation

Bharat Solar Venture adds an indicative subsidy estimate to eligible quotations: the central PM Surya Ghar amount plus any state top-up held in its rule table. The figure is informational. It is never added to or taken off the taxable total, GST or grand total, because the customer pays the full amount and the subsidy is paid afterwards.

What the estimate shows

Central and state amounts appear as separate lines, each marked as verified or unverified, with a total. The same box is printed on the first page of the PDF, so the customer sees the estimate next to the price.

Where the numbers come from

Bharat Solar Venture keeps a table of subsidy rules. Each rule stores a rate per kilowatt for a first capacity band, an optional rate for the next band, a maximum amount, the period it applies to, a source link and a verified flag. The estimate applies the rule in force to the quoted capacity. Because government schemes change, no amounts are typed into this page: the figures on your quotation come from the live rules.

The estimate is shown for the system types a rule covers. Where no rule applies, the quotation simply has no subsidy box.

State top-ups and your own override

Where a state rule exists it is added as its own line. If the state amount for a particular customer differs, you can enter your own state subsidy amount and a label on the quotation, and that replaces the automatic figure for that quotation.

The disclaimer printed with it

The estimate always carries a disclaimer: the subsidy is paid by the government to the customer after commissioning, it needs a DISCOM-registered vendor, net metering and DCR/ALMM-listed modules, and the final amount follows MNRE and state guidelines. Lines that have not been verified ask the reader to confirm with the state nodal agency or DISCOM.

Common mistakes

  • Presenting the subsidy as a price cut

The customer pays the full amount on the quotation. The subsidy is paid to them by the government after commissioning, so it never changes the totals.

  • Treating an unverified line as confirmed

Lines that have not been verified are labelled as unverified and ask the reader to confirm with the state nodal agency or DISCOM.

  • Expecting a subsidy box on every quotation

The estimate is shown only for the system types a rule covers. Where no rule applies, the quotation has no subsidy box.

  • Forgetting that your own state amount applies to one quotation

If you enter your own state subsidy amount and a label, it replaces the automatic figure for that quotation only.

What to check before you send

  • The customer understands the subsidy box is an estimate, not a guarantee
  • Any line marked unverified has been confirmed with the state nodal agency or DISCOM
  • If you replaced the state amount, the label says why
  • The customer knows they pay the full quoted amount and receive the subsidy afterwards
  • The printed disclaimer is still on the first page of the PDF

Frequently asked questions

Does the subsidy reduce what the customer pays me?

No. The customer pays the full amount on the quotation. The subsidy is paid to them by the government after commissioning, which is why it is shown separately and never changes the totals.

Are the subsidy amounts guaranteed?

No. They are estimates based on the rules in the table and the final amount is decided by the scheme. The printed disclaimer says so.

How do I know whether a rule has been checked?

Every rule carries a source link and a verified flag. Unverified lines are labelled as unverified and prompt a check with the state nodal agency or DISCOM.
