How we verify solar subsidy data
Every subsidy rule we publish is stored with an official source link, the date a person last checked it, and a verified flag. A rule shows as verified only when both are recorded. Unverified rules are labelled, rules not re-checked recently carry a notice, and nothing is checked automatically.

What is stored for each rule
A subsidy rule is one record: the scheme (central or a state top-up), the state, the type of installation, the amount tiers, the dates it is in force, a link to the official source, the date a person last checked it, a verified flag, and an optional short public note. The subsidy pages read these records; the amounts are not typed into the page text.
How a rule becomes verified
- Rules are entered and changed only by the platform owner, in a private screen that vendors cannot open.
- Checking means a person reads the official notification and compares it with the rule. We do not fetch or compare the source page automatically.
- A rule can be saved as verified only with an https source link and a check date that is not in the future. The system checks the form of the link, not what is behind it.
- If a rule is marked verified but has no check date, the pages show it as unverified until a date is recorded.
What you see on the pages
- A verified rule shows the date it was checked and a link to its source.
- An unverified rule is labelled as unverified and tells you to confirm the amount with your state nodal agency or DISCOM.
- The public note, when there is one, is shown with the rule as plain text.
- "No state rule on file" means only that we hold none, not that the state offers nothing.
- If the records cannot be loaded, the page says so and shows no amounts instead of guessing.
How out-of-date data is flagged
A rule that has not been re-checked within the window given under key facts below is treated as stale. The pages that show it carry a notice with the date of the last check, and the owner's review screen marks the rule for re-checking.
What this does not mean
Amounts shown are indicative. Nothing on these pages is an official notification: the official scheme text and your nodal agency or DISCOM decide what you receive. Verified means a person checked the rule on the date shown, not that it can never change.
Corrections
If you think a figure is wrong, send us the page, what looks wrong and a link to the official source. We change a rule only against an official source, and when we do we record a new check date.
Error reporting is not set up yet: no contact address has been published. (Set NEXT_PUBLIC_CONTACT_EMAIL.)

Common mistakes
Reading verified as unchangeable
Verified means a person checked the rule on the date shown, not that it can never change.
Reading no state rule on file as no state subsidy
It means only that we hold none, not that the state offers nothing.
Assuming sources are checked automatically
A person reads the official notification and compares it with the rule. We do not fetch or compare the source page automatically.
Relying on a rule with an old check date
A rule that has not been re-checked recently is treated as stale, and the pages that show it carry a notice with the date of the last check.
What to check before you send
- You read the date the rule was last checked
- You opened the official source link and compared it with the figure
- A rule labelled unverified has been confirmed with your state nodal agency or DISCOM
- If a figure looks wrong, you send the page, what looks wrong and a link to the official source
