A solar price book that fills in your rates

The price book stores your system rate and bill-of-materials rate per kilowatt, with GST rates, for each combination of installation type, system mode, tier and capacity range. When you set a capacity on a quotation, the matching row fills in the rates so you stop retyping them.

How rows are organised

A row is defined by four things, and each row carries two rates and their GST rates:

  • Installation type: residential, commercial or VFD
  • System mode: on-grid, off-grid, hybrid or VFD
  • Tier: premium, standard or economy
  • Capacity range: a minimum and a maximum in kilowatts
  • System rate per kilowatt and bill-of-materials rate per kilowatt, each with its own GST rate

One row serves a range of sizes

Because a row covers a capacity range, one row can price many system sizes. If no row matches a quotation's capacity, Bharat Solar Venture tells you that no price is configured and you can either add a row or enter the rates by hand for that quotation. Rows can be switched off without deleting them.

Set up during onboarding, edit any time

Setting your default pricing is the third step of the guided onboarding, after your company details and branding. You can open the price book later from Settings to change a rate or add a capacity band. Changes apply to quotations you create afterwards; quotations already finalized keep the rates they were issued with.

Common mistakes

  • Quoting a capacity no row covers

    If no row matches, Bharat Solar Venture tells you that no price is configured. Add a row for the range or enter the rates by hand for that quotation.

  • Setting rates for only one tier or mode

    A row is chosen by installation type, system mode, tier and capacity range together, so a quotation in another tier or mode needs its own row or hand-typed rates.

  • Expecting a rate edit to reach finalized quotations

    Changes apply to quotations you create afterwards. Quotations already finalized keep the rates they were issued with.

What to check before you send

  • A row exists for each installation type, system mode and tier you quote
  • The capacity ranges cover the sizes you actually sell
  • The system rate, the bill-of-materials rate and their GST rates are correct on every row
  • The default pricing you set during onboarding still matches your current rates

Frequently asked questions

Can I charge different rates for premium and economy systems?

Yes. Tier is part of the key, so premium, standard and economy can each have their own rates for the same capacity.

What if my capacity is not covered by any row?

You are told that no price is configured for that combination. Add a row for the range, or type the rates into the quotation yourself.

Is GST part of the price book?

Yes. Each row stores a GST rate for the system line and one for the bill-of-materials line, and these fill into the quotation with the rates.
