MPPT: meaning in solar

MPPT stands for maximum power point tracking. It is a control method in an inverter or charge controller that keeps adjusting the electrical load on the solar array so the array delivers as much power as the light allows at that moment. Without it, a change in sun or temperature wastes part of what the panels could give.

Most modern inverters and charge controllers include it. What differs between models is how many independent inputs they have, which matters when the array faces more than one direction.

It is a feature of the equipment, so it belongs in the equipment line of a quotation, not in the price discussion. In a solar pump system the VFD sets the motor speed and MPPT sets how much power the array delivers, so they are different jobs. Many solar pump drives include MPPT, but not every unit does, so read the drive's datasheet and say in the equipment line what it includes.
